OAG Releases 2025 Annual Audit Report on Public Expenditure

The Office of the Auditor General today released the 2025 Annual Audit Report covering all ministries and provincial governments of the Solomon Islands.
The report highlights significant improvements in financial management across several departments, while also identifying areas that require immediate attention and reform.
Key findings include:
- Overall compliance with financial regulations improved by 15% compared to the previous year
- Three ministries received unqualified audit opinions for the first time
- Capital project expenditure tracking has improved significantly with the adoption of new digital systems
- Several procurement irregularities were identified in infrastructure projects worth over SBD 50 million

All ministries have been given 90 days to respond to the findings and recommendations contained in the report.
