Public Accounts Committee Reviews OAG Recommendations
By Office of the Auditor General
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Parliament held a special review session on January 20, 2026, to assess the implementation of recommendations issued by the Office of the Auditor General during the 2024 audit cycle.
Of the 156 recommendations issued across all ministries and statutory bodies:
- 67 recommendations (43%) have been fully implemented
- 52 recommendations (33%) are partially implemented or in progress
- 37 recommendations (24%) have not yet been addressed
The PAC Chair noted that while the overall implementation rate has improved compared to previous years, there remain critical areas where government agencies have been slow to act, particularly in procurement reform and asset management.
The OAG presented a detailed briefing to the committee on the systemic issues identified across multiple audit cycles and proposed a prioritized action plan for the most impactful recommendations.
The PAC resolved to schedule quarterly follow-up sessions to monitor progress and hold accounting officers accountable for implementing outstanding recommendations.
